What was the highlight of Matsubara Hotel São Paulo
3 not 4 stars hotel, but with the potential to be a 5 stars
Good location. Staff was helpful after an issue regarding the booking. The glass lifts are quite nice.
Basic breakfast, fruits and cakes lack flavour, specially for a country like Brazil. The sauna doesn't work. I asked reception to turn it on but even after an hour it wasn't hot -the log cabin in my garden gets warmer in summer. Like other reviews said it's an old hotel that knew better times, that said it clearly has the potential to be great hotel.

The worst hotel I've been
The hotel is in a good location with some good restaurants and nearby Paulista Avenue. The breakfast is ok.
At first i arrived at the property with a good half hour beforey check-in. The staff asked me to pay half diary and didn't asked my friend. After it the bathroom was so dirty with some slimes and other people hair (woman long hair). There were 2 power plugs and the light of the bathroom that didn't work. The shower towel wasn't clean (it was still dirty from people before) The walls are really thin and you can hear everything from the nearby bedrooms (i heard fights from 2 rooms after mins and even sex from a room nearby). Sometimes you have a bad cesspool smell everywhere at the hotel.

Staff refused to offer an Hour late check out, breakfast was poor, the room wasn’t cleaned properly. I don’t see where they have got 8.3 review from Booking.com
